Debenhams launch new App

This is a very, very bad thing for my bank balance. Debenhams have just launched an App…

The free-to-download iOS7 optimised, fully transactional Debenhams app allows users to shop the full Debenhams range directly from an iPhone while at home or on the move.

According to the retailer, more than half of all visits to debenhams.ie come directly from mobile devices across Ireland, so they are anticipating strong download rates of the app from its online customers.

The app can be personalised by using the ‘My Debenhams’ tab to narrow the selection of items displayed; filtering by type, brand, colour, price and size. And as well as remembering your recently viewed items, the app offers track and trace, allowing customers to track their online orders. Bargain-hunting shoppers can even select to shop for sale items only and products can be shared with friends on Facebook, Twitter, Google +, Pinterest and by email.

The ‘Wish List’ and ‘Gift List’ features have been designed to help time-poor shoppers cope with their shopping needs while on the go. Users can email friends and family with their wish list of presents created by scanning products in store or selecting via the app.

My absolute favourite feature of the app is the ‘Barcode Scanner’. This acts as a virtual shop assistant; enabling the user to scan barcodes in store to read full product details and reviews, check for size availability or save products to wish and gift lists.

I find that a lot of the time, when I find something I love the look off, i can never find my size so this is perfect for anybody with this problem, like me. The app also fuses online and offline shopping which I love!
